About writing & spelling tools
Writing and spelling tools support every stage of the writing process — from handwriting and spelling foundations through to paragraphing, text types, and editing. The tools in this category align with the Australian Curriculum v9.0 Literacy strand and work with structured-literacy and Writer's Workshop approaches.
For handwriting you'll find pre-writing stroke practice, letter formation tools (NSW Foundation Style, Victorian Modern Cursive, Queensland Beginners), and joining-strokes practice. For spelling: word-family generators, prefix/suffix morphology builders, patterns and rules-based activities, and weekly spelling-list word searches and worksheets.
For writing composition, there are text-type scaffolds (narrative, persuasive, information report, recount, procedure), sentence-expansion tools, paragraph builders, editing checklists, and NAPLAN-style writing prompts for Years 3, 5, 7 and 9. Tools that generate print-ready PDFs or export to Google Docs are tagged. Every card shows year-level fit and whether the tool supports differentiation (simplified versions, word banks, scaffolded sentence starters).
