You will find 50 common rimes plus a blank wheel in this package. It also includes the checklist for testing and recording. The onsets (wheel back) include single consonants and consonant blends of common words.

I use Word Wheels in my Intervention work, especially for those students who find blending difficult. The multi-sensory aspect of turning the wheel, looking at the two parts of the word and blending contributes to phonemic awareness and development. Even blending nonsense words is valuable.

I have purposely left the front plain as you will see in the photo. I have found that some of my students get distracted by anything else on the front of the wheel like in some commercial products but they will just focus on the rime if that's all that is there.

This resource is really worth the trouble of copying, laminating and assembling. You can copy the lot or just the ones you need. I used a split pin to join. Either way you'll have them for years and many students will benefit from using them.
