This Stage 1 Creative Arts Unit has been carefully designed to align with the new NSW Creative Arts Stage 1 syllabus and focuses on developing foundational skills in Dance and Music through explicit, engaging and movement-based lessons.

Across Lessons 1–5, students explore locomotor and non-locomotor movement, the elements of space in dance, and key musical concepts including beat, tempo and pitch. Lessons are structured to support active participation, creativity and performance, with assessment embedded through observation and discussion, in line with syllabus expectations.
