## Description

Structured phonics and sight words are the backbone of an early literacy program with reading and literature as the driver. If you are looking for a sight word list, look no further. The first 300 of Fry's Instant Words represent around 65% of all common reading material, with the first one hundred being the most important with 50% representation. This list is based on solid research by Dr Edward Fry and revised in 1996 ( 1000 Instant Words: The Most Common Words for Teaching Reading, Writing and Spelling ). The list is not based on any commercial reading program so word recognition will generalise to a broad range of reading materials, including library books. This product contains all you will need to identify skill sets and organise ability groups. The screening kit includes: A record sheet (individual) Class Overview (to facilitate ability groupings) Tags (I have mounted these on a key ring for screening) Student Record Sheet (for students to monitor their progress - especially important for older students who have struggled) Word Cards (numbered) There is a variety of games included to ensure high levels of motivation and engagement that will contribute to progress in reading fluency and comprehension. Board Games: (4 sets of each + Blank Boards): RACE DAY CLIMB and SLIDE The ZOO Game Board and Card Game: BINGO (4 Sets with 15 boards in each set) Card Games: DONKEY (4 Sets) SNAP (4 Sets) MEMORY (4 Sets) GO FISH (4 Sets) Focusing Activity: I HAVE WHO HAS (4 Sets) These words are common to all games: Set 1 (1-25): the, of, and, a to, in, is, you, that, it, he, was, for, an, are, as, with, his, they, I, at, be, this, have, from Set 2 (26-50): or, one, had, by, words, but, not, what, all, were, we, when, your, can, said, there, use, an, each, which, she, do, how, their, it Set 3 (51-75): will, up, other, about, out, many, then, them, these, so, some, her, would, make, like, him, into, time, has, look, two, more, write, go, see Set 4 (76-100): number, no, way, could, people, my, than, first, water, been, called, who, oil, sit, now, find, long, down, day, did, get, come, made, may, part
